Safe Foods for Children With Egg Allergies
There are a wide variety of foods that children with egg allergies can enjoy. Eggs are commonly found in pre-packaged foods such as muffins, donuts, pizza crust and cakes. Fruits and vegetables are healthy snacks and can be part of a well-balanced meal. They are safe for your child with egg allergies and are loaded with vitamins and minerals. Make a fruit smoothie with low-fat milk for breakfast. Pack a bag of baby carrots and a side of ranch dressing in your child̵7;s lunch for school. Serve apples or celery with peanut butter for a mid-afternoon snack. For a side dish at dinner, make broccoli with low-fat cheese melted on top.

For sandwiches, read the nutritional labels of breads to find a brand that is not made with eggs. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are an all-time favorite. Grilled cheese sandwiches are also an easy sandwich to make that doesn̵7;t require eggs as an ingredient. A turkey sandwich made with lettuce, tomato, low-fat cheese and whole grain bread makes a healthy meal for your child. Avoid French toast, egg salad and chicken salad, which can be made with eggs.
Nuts

For a healthy snack, give your child nuts. Although healthy benefits vary by nut, many nuts are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, rich in fiber and contain vitamin E. Almonds, peanuts, cashews and walnuts make tasty treats. Make your own trail mix with a medley of nuts, dried fruit, raisins and granola. Children younger than 3 years old should not be given nuts because they can be a choking hazard. Children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old should not be given whole nuts.
