How to Ask for a Camp Sponsorship
If you want to go to camp this summer, you and your family will first need to have the money to do so. Camp generally requires staying in cabins or lodges and eating at least three meals a day. After you factor in the cost of all activities, as well as the general cost of staffing and running the camp, the price can get pretty steep. If your family does not have enough money, you can still get to camp by asking for camp sponsorships.
Instructions
Find out if there is any sponsorship program in place through the camp. Sometimes, camps honor sponsors with special gifts and ceremonies depending on how much they give. Businesses who sponsor campers could also get free promotion through the camp. Get a list of people and businesses to ask. You can sometimes start with people you know, such as relatives and neighbors. Broaden your search to local business owners and managers to increase your chances of finding sponsorship. Write a letter asking for camp sponsorship to send to the people and companies on your list. Include the date and your name and address. Then, explain that you are looking for sponsorship to go to camp. Include any benefits a person will receive by being a sponsor, such as being honored, receiving a free gift or getting promotion for their business. Talk about the educational value of the camp and what you will learn while you̵7;re there, as well. Be sincere and show you excitement to increase your chances of finding a sponsor. Send out your sponsorship letter. If you only have an email address, you can email it to potential sponsors. You can also email it to organizations and companies requesting that it be distributed to the employees. Follow up with your letter. After you send your letter, wait about a week. Then, call the potential sponsors to make sure they received the letter. If they did, ask if they have any questions about the camp program, remind them of any benefits of being a sponsor and find out if they might be interested.
