How to Make a Magazine Bead Bracelet
Gather your crafty kids together and have them make magazine bracelets. It's a fun and colorful way to reuse old magazines and to keep idle young hands busy and creative. Cut, glue and roll up these magazine beads and make a colorful bracelet. Here's the way to do it, and enjoy the time with your kids. You might want to make one for yourself.
Things You'll Need
- Ruler
- Cardboard
- Old magazines
- Wooden skewers
- Paintbrush
- Glue stick
- Clear elastic cord
- Clear nail polish
Instructions
Make a template cardboard triangle, 1 inch on the bottom and 6 inches high. Use this triangle to cut out 30 triangles from your old magazines. The more colorful the triangles, the prettier the bracelet. Take one triangle and tightly roll it, base to point, over a wooden skewer. Glue down the tip. Roll the next one beside it. When the skewer is full and the glue is dry, slide the magazine beads off the stick. Brush the magazine beads with clear nail polish and allow them to dry. Slide the first bead onto the elastic cord, centering it in the middle of the cord. Add the next bead by threading one end of the cord through the left side of the bead and the other side of the cord through the opposite side of the bead. Tighten by pulling elastic tight. Beads will be next to each other, lengthwise. Continue adding beads until you have the desired length. Thread the end of the cord through the ends of the first bead and tie a knot.
