Halloween Gifts to Make for Babies

Pumpkin Hat

• If you are good with yarn and knitting needles, you could make your baby a sweet pumpkin hat for Halloween. Use green yarn for the part of the hat that will sit on the crown, creating a stem, and on the bottom part of the hat, use orange yarn to create the look of a pumpkin body. This gift will keep your baby warm on Halloween and can even act as a holiday-themed hat.

Halloween Rattle

• Make your baby a homemade rattle for Halloween. Sanitize an empty plastic water bottle and remove the label. Fill the empty bottle with some Halloween-inspired buttons and dried rice dyed black and orange. Secure the bottle by filling the interior edges of the lid with hot glue and twist it back on top of the bottle. Your little one will enjoy shaking the bottle, listening to the noises it makes and seeing the objects move around inside. Keep an eye on her at all times when using this craft.

Jack-o-Lantern Infant Bodysuit

• Turn your little pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern for Halloween with a homemade infant bodysuit. Purchase a new white one or dye an existing one orange. Add the eyes, nose and mouth of the jack-o-lantern on the front using non-toxic black fabric paint. Alternatively, you could put the jack-o-lantern face on the bottom of the infant bodysuit, where your baby's bottom will be, to give a friendly Halloween greeting to others as she crawls past them.

Halloween-Themed Toys

• Do you know how to use a needle and thread? If so, you could make some handmade Halloween-themed toys as gifts for your baby. Sew white felt into the shape of a ghost, creating a back and a front, but leaving a little portion opened. Stuff batting inside the opening in order to fill up the ghost and give it a plush feeling. Once stuffed, sew the opening shut. You can also create a pumpkin, a black cat, a witch hat or any other object that represents Halloween.
