Good Christian Skits for Family Night
A skit is an easy and enjoyable activity to share on a family night, and Christian families might prefer using skits that support their faith. Some families use skits they find ready for use and others prefer to write a skit based on a specific topic or Bible reference. Your family can take parts and act out the skit or use puppets, which could work better in a family with small children.

Bible Stories
-
Many Bible stories make for good skits. You can easily adapt the story of Adam and Eve meeting with God after the fall, as found in Genesis 3. You will need four characters -- Adam, Eve, God and the snake. Other stories that easily transform to a short skit include Jesus comforting Mary Magdalene at the tomb on Easter Sunday, as found in John 20:10-18 or Jesus talking to Peter on the sea shore in John 21:22, both of which will require two people. You could also use a parable such as Jesus' search for the lost sheep in Luke 15:3-6 or the rich man and Lazarus as found in Luke 16:19-30.
Topic Skits
-
You could create skits based on topics, such as how to respond to peer pressure, how to talk to your friends about your faith or how to fight temptation. These can use modern settings and situations that your kids will experience and provide the clues they need to stand strong in faith. You can set these up as improvisational skits where your child gives you a scenario and you play the part of your child. This type of skit can open the door for you to talk candidly about chastity, gossip, use of social media or other modern problems your child is concerned about. Avoid preaching in these skits, which could turn your child away from any helpful tips your present. Instead, get into your child̵7;s character and show your child how you might respond to the situations.
Internet Resources
-
If you don̵7;t want to write your own skit or purchase a book of skits, you can find free offerings on the Internet you can use for a quick family skit night. Your family can enjoy a conversation between God and someone praying the Lord̵7;s Prayer found on the Witness Dragon website. This script has been around more than 40 years but is still fresh and insightful and requires no props. Other websites that offer free scripts include Proclaiming Christ Ministries, Bob's Nook, and Let̵7;s Skit Crazy. Let̵7;s Skit Crazy offers CDs with sound effects and music, but you can print and use the skits royalty free without purchasing the CDs.
