Tiger Paws
-
For the beginning face painter, start small. Tiger paws are easy motifs to paint for beginners. Have the child sit in the chair in front of you. Ask the child to look a little to his left. Then on his cheek draw a circle about an inch in diameter with your paint brush. Then above the large circle draw a row of three smaller circles. Paint in the circles with the color your drew them with. Popular colors for tiger paws is bright yellow, red or blue.
Big Butterfly
-
Use face paint crayons for this project. In the center of the forehead draw a black circle. This is the butterfly's head. Draw the antenna on top of the head, curling them under slightly. Down the bridge of the nose color in a black oval; this is the bug's body. Above each eye, draw a slanted line. The lines should start at the top of the inner eye and shoot up at 45-degree angles. Then with your black crayon draw three half circles around the eyes. The first half circle should start at the outside of the highest point of the line you have just drawn. Make a half circle around the outer eye, then another smaller one connecting that to the last one that should meet at the nose. The child's eyes are the butterfly's spots. In the circles use purple and red crayons to color the eye area in. Use a white crayon to add a few small white spots to both sides of the butterfly's wings. This face painting is large but pretty. Wiggly toddlers may not sit long enough for this one, but older children will love it.
