  1. YMCA Camps

    • Traditional one-week day camps are offered all summer by YMCA branches throughout the greater Cincinnati area. Campers participate in activities that tie into the theme of the week, such as ̶0;Mystery Week,̶1; ̶0;Survivor̶1; and ̶0;Mystical Magic.̶1; The YMCA also offers one-week sports camps for kids who want to develop specific skills in sports such as basketball, flag football, volleyball and swimming.

    Sports Camps

    • The Kids First Sports Center offers weeklong ̶0;Camp-a-palooza̶1; sessions for kids from kindergarten through seventh grade. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with extended care available. Lunch, a camp T-shirt and camp bag are included in the registration fee. Campers participate in activities such as gymnastics, swimming, arts and crafts, music, dance and team games. Each week̵7;s session includes a field trip to local attractions such as the Cincinnati Zoo, Coco Key Water Resort, Cincinnati Museum and Kings Dominion.

      Kids First also offers half-day camps for potty-trained children age 3 through kindergarten. Activities are tailored to their interests and abilities, and they feature in-house activities instead of off-site field trips.

    Science Camps

    • The Drake Planetarium & Science Center holds ̶0;LEGO Engineering Camps̶1; and ̶0;Science Adventure Camps̶1; for a variety of grade levels. Kids in kindergarten through second grade can sign up for a young builders camp where they will work on building towers and carnival machines. Other camp themes include robotics, architecture, engineering and amusement park science. Each session is three hours, but kids can attend two classes back-to-back to make it a full-day camp. Planetarium members receive a discount on camp registration fees. All camps are held at the Drake Science Center next door to the Planetarium.

    Theater Camp

    • Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park offers a Summer Theatre Day Camp for pupils from first through 12th grades, with classes taught by theater professionals. Each session ends with a performance for family members. Campers in first and second grade attend a one-week ̶0;creative dramatics̶1; camp for two hours per day, mornings or afternoons. All other grades complete a two-week session, with four hours of instruction each day in acting, improvisation, stage combat and movement and acting for television. Playhouse subscribers receive a discount, and a limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Each camper receives a free ticket to a future Playhouse performance.
