How to Make Body Scrub for Children

Whether you're making spa party favors for your youngster and her friends or surprising your child with a little homemade pampering just for her, you can make a body scrub easily from items in your kitchen cupboard. Since your youngster̵7;s skin isn̵7;t likely to need the same deep scrub that more mature skin requires, stick to only a little of the exfoliating ingredient and encourage her to scrub lightly when using the homemade spa product. If your child has sensitive skin, opt for an oat scrub that will remove dirt while soothing skin, too.

Things You'll Need

  • White, granulated sugar
  • Medium-size mixing bowl
  • Honey
  • Strawberry extract
  • Vanilla extract
  • Baby oil
  • Pink food coloring
  • Sealable container or jars with ribbon
  • Ingredient tags (optional)
  • Orange juice
  • Chamomile tea bag
  • Mug
  • Old-fashioned oats

Instructions

  1. Pampered with Pink Scrub

    • 1

Pour a half-cup of sugar into a medium-size mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of honey and mix the ingredients thoroughly.

    • 2

Add 1 tsp. of strawberry extract, 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract and 4 tbsp. of baby oil. Mix the ingredients together.

    • 3

Squeeze three or four drops of pink food coloring into the mixture and stir. Continue to add drops of pink food coloring, a few drops at a time, until the scrub reaches the hue you'd like.

    • 4

Use a large spoon to scoop the mixture into a sealable container and secure the lid. Alternatively, scoop the mixture into small, individual jars for party favors and wrap a pink ribbon around each lid with a tag that lists the ingredients.

    Citrusy Sweet Scrub

    • 5

Pour a half-cup of white, granulated sugar in a mixing bowl and stir in 4 tbsp. of honey.

    • 6

Add 3 tbsp. of orange juice and blend thoroughly.

    • 7

Pour the mixture into a sealable container or divide it between small jars for party favors.

    Gentle Oat Scrub

    • 8

Boil water in a kettle or in a pot on the stove. Place a chamomile tea bag in a mug and pour in about 6 tbsp. of water. Allow the tea to steep for approximately 5 minutes, remove the tea bag and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

    • 9

Pour 1 cup of old-fashioned oats in a medium-size mixing bowl and mix in the chamomile tea. Allow the mixture to sit for 5 minutes.

    • 10

Add 2 tbsp. of honey and mix thoroughly. Seal the soft scrub in a container in the fridge between uses.
