Activities for Kids in East County, San Diego

The eastern suburbs of San Diego are known as "East County" despite the fact that most of the area is within the western part of the county. The cities of Santee and El Cajon are two of the largest East County cities, both lying on its western edge. There are plenty of activities for kids in these areas.

    City of Santee Skatepark

    • The City of Santee Skatepark is place for East County kids to skate and ride BMX.

      For active kids of all ages in East County, the City of Santee Skatepark offers a safe, supervised place to skate and ride BMX. The park also runs lesson programs given by experienced instructors for skaters of all abilities. The park is available to book for private parties. Park operating hours depend on the season and school vacation timetable.

    Bostonia Center, El Cajon

      The Bostonia Center is open Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and is situated opposite Bostonia Elementary School. The center is located in a two-acre park that includes a playfield and playground. Inside the center is a gymnasium, games room, meeting room and activity rooms. Bostonia Park is next to the center and has playground equipment with slides and climbing areas for kids.

      Renette Park in the city of El Cajon in East County has a lighted outdoor basketball court, playing field, picnic area, the "Plaza" play court ,which is suitable for skate boarding and roller blading, and an activity playground for toddlers.
