How to Wash Clothes With Baby Poop Stains
Dressing a baby is not cheap and those adorable outfits can be gone in a flash if your baby has an accident in their pants. Not to worry. It will only be money thrown out the window if you do not treat the stain properly. It does not take a lot of effort to get a stain out of your baby's clothing. You just have to be willing to take a few minutes to bring a poop-stained outfit back to life.
Things You'll Need
- Cleaning gloves
- Toilet
- Toilet paper
- Sink
- Baby laundry detergent
Instructions
Put on a pair of cleaning gloves if you do not feel comfortable treating the stain with bare hands. Take the poop-stained baby clothing and turn it inside out over a toilet. Dump any excess poop into the toilet. You may also want to wipe the outfit off with toilet paper and then dump the toilet paper in the toilet. Plug a sink and fill it halfway with cold water. Apply one tbsp. of liquid baby laundry detergent on top of the stain. If it is a large stain, double or triple the tbsp. to accommodate the stain. Rub the baby laundry detergent into the stained area gently. Soak the baby clothing into the cold water and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Rinse the baby clothing under cold water. Put the soaked baby clothing into the washing machine and wash it on a cold cycle. You can add the appropriate amount of laundry detergent to the garment according to the directions on the bottle.
