How to Create a Burn Book
A burn book provides you with an opportunity to write down your honest opinion about your peers. Often a burn book contains information that's mean or untrue, but your goal should be to be brutally honest about your opinions of others. Read on to learn how to create a burn book.
Instructions
Buy or make a book to write your opinions in. Scrapbooks work well and offer enough room for text and photos. Staple several blank pages between two pieces of craft foam to quickly make a book. Decide who gets to add content to the burn book. You may want to write your own entries for personal venting. Or you might decide to have your close friends write comments. Write a decoy title on the cover like "Memories of High School" to help hide the true purpose of the book. If you don't want anyone else to see your burn book, you need to hide it in a secret location. Use Judy Blume's slam book approach. Everyone who wants to participate writes their name in the book. Pass the book and write opinions of the person named. When everyone finishes, read the comments. Copy the "Mean Girls" approach and write comments about people who won't get to read the burn book. Only people in your clique get to write and read comments. Create an online burn book by setting up a MySpace page. Set the title to a specific area like your town or school. Allow anyone and everyone to post comments. You might want to use another system like a blog for visitors to leave anonymous comments.
