How to Look Straight Edge

There's a lot to like about the punk rock lifestyle--namely, the music. But if you find yourself not agreeing with the sex and drugs that go along with the rock and roll, then you might be straight edge. There are a few different ways to dress so that people in the scene know that you're straight edge.

      Get a black marker and draw a large X on the top of your hand. It should be large and thick enough to fill up most of your skin.

      Wear black hooded sweatshirts with slogans like "drug free" and "sXe" written on them, so that people instantly understand that you're straight edge. If you can't make the hoodies on your own, there's plenty of websites where you can buy one.

      Wear a band t-shirt underneath your hoodie featuring a famous straight-edge band. Minor Threat is a classic choice.

      Get lots of tattoos and piercings. Being punk rock is a huge part of being straight edge. There are many different kinds of straight-edge-themed tattoos you can get, including the typical X.
