Chore List for a 15-Year-Old
Chores build character, no matter how much your teen will roll his eyes at that statement. To make chores a success in your household, your 15-year-old should be given a reward for accomplishing a to-do list. No matter the size of the reward, such as money or privileges, your teen will appreciate it and you will appreciate seeing him gain some responsibility.

Laundry
-
Teenagers can accumulate a lot of laundry, especially as puberty kicks in. As the laundry piles up, you can trust your 15-year-old is old enough to do her own laundry or at least pitch in. To make the chore a little more appealing, you could purchase an extra hamper and laundry basket just for her clothing. Have your teenager complete the chore start to finish. Laundry chores include separating the white and dark clothing, loading the clothes into the washer and dryer, adding soap and other needed cleaning products and operating the machines, cleaning the dryer's lint trap afterward, folding her clothes, and putting her clothes away.
Trash Removal
-
As the day wears on, the average family accumulates a lot of trash just from preparing meals, having snacks and other daily activities. To keep the trash accumulation in check, your 15-year-old can help by taking bags of trash out to a designated area until trash day arrives. Another trash chore your teen can help with is collecting the trash from all the rooms in the house and disposing of it in the main trash container. Once trash day arrives, he can then take the trash down to the curb for collection.
Yard Work
-
Mowing the grass, trimming hedges, sweeping walkways and helping tend to plants are hard chores for younger kids, but they are appropriate for a 15-year-old. Even if operating a riding lawn mower seems too advanced for your teenager, she is old enough to run a push mower. Other yard work she could perform includes raking leaves in the fall, trimming hedges and weed whacking in the spring and summer, and even helping plant and water the gardens.
Housecleaning
-
Every parent with the average teenager knows how hard it can be to get a 15-year-old to clean his room. But cleaning his room could prove to be a simple chore on his to-do list for which he receives a reward upon completion. A 15-year-old should also help out with household chores such as dusting, vacuuming and wiping down kitchen counters.
