Ideas for a Green and Blue Nursery

Bedding

• Bedding includes the blankets, sheets, quilts and bumpers for the crib. For a blue and green theme you are not limited to a specific theme. Instead, look at a baby supply store for any bedding that matches the hues of green and blue you are interested in. For example, for darker blues and greens, you could choose a sports theme with blues and greens in it. You could also choose a light colored combination and pick something with frogs on it. Another option is choose color-block bedding in blues and greens. Or, if you prefer, you can make your own using fabric from a craft store, which carry patterns for baby bedding.

Walls

• Once you choose your bedding and your shades of blue and green, you can begin to decorate your nursery walls. The simplest way to go about this is to paint the walls solid colors. For example, you can paint two walls green and two walls blue. Another option is paint polka dots on the wall that match your color scheme. Stripes can also be made by using painter’s tape to section off 12-inch stripes on the wall. You can paint the stripes with your different paint colors. • Once you have your walls and bedding taken care of, you can begin to add the final details to the room. White lamp shades can either be painted or you can attach blue and green ribbon to the shade to add color accents. You can place stuffed animals around the room that are blue and green in color. Rugs and curtains can also match your color scheme and add a touch to pull it all together.
