How to Take Black Cohosh to Start Contractions
Whether past their due date or simply hoping to speed along the delivery process, many women have turned to natural remedies to ease them into the beginning stages of labor. One such herbal remedy is black cohosh, which has been linked with the ability to start a pregnant woman's contractions. This herb both is natural in origin and appears to be a safe and holistic way to induce childbirth.
Things You'll Need
- Black cohosh tincture
- Mug
- Warm water
Instructions
Sleep well. The night before you intend to start taking the black cohosh, you should ensure that you get a full and restful night's sleep. This is always best for a pregnant woman, as it helps the body restore itself and be at its best. Wake up early. After your full night's rest and you are feeling refreshed, you will want to arise in the early morning to begin mixing up your black cohosh drink. Combine the mixture. Add 20 droplets of black cohosh tincture to a glass of warm water. Stir the drink until the tincture is mixed and then proceed to drink it. Drink every hour five times. Continue to mix the black cohosh and drink the solution in one-hour intervals for five hours. Do your best to evenly space them in the 60-minute allotments, and drink them while the water is warm. Eat lunch. After your fifth drink of the black cohosh mixture, have a light lunch. Avoid anything too heavy, creamy, rich or fatty. Continue drinking the solution each hour. After lunch, continue drinking the black cohosh solution on the hour evenly spaced until it is about dinner time. At this point, if you have not experienced contractions, stop taking the black cohosh for the day. You can resume the regime again after three days.
