Youth Boot Camps in Louisiana

Boot camps offer an alternative to juvenile detention halls for teenagers and youths struggling with drugs, truancy and trouble at home or school. The first juvenile boot camp was implemented in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, in 1985. In the 25 years since that first camp opened, boot camps have developed in over two dozen states with variations on the Orleans Parish model.
