How to Organize Your Kids Daily Routines
Do you find yourself asking the same questions every morning before the kids leave for school? Did you brush your teeth, make your bed, do you have your belt, glasses, and handkerchief?
Things You'll Need
- An erasable board with markers for each child's room.
Instructions
Stop asking and let them check off the items they've completed....I know what you're going to say you have to remind them to check the checklist. Before you shoot it down give it a try! Vary the style based upon age. For teens use a clipboard format, toddlers large style, kids in between select a style slightly smaller than the toddlers. Now that each child has a board for their rooms, have each update them with their daily tasks. Should include evening activities such as homework placed in backpacks and teeth brushed. Let the toddler help too. This reinforces reading and responsibilities. Every weekend have each child update their boards with any exceptions scheduled for the upcoming week. For example 'Wednesday is bring your special book to school.' At bedtime you can check their boards. Make it a big production with your toddler and use special magnets or stickers to mark each accomplishment. With your pre-teen make a big deal by saying something as simple as 'you're so good at this I have nothing else to say but wow'. Ask your teen if this keeps her organized and reduces the stress with so many things to juggle. Checkout some of my other related articles to stay organized!
