How to Get an Overall Grade From a Percentage Grading System
Calculating your overall grade for a course may be necessary if you have a big test coming up, and you need a high enough grade to pass the course. Most assignments are given a certain amount of points. These points are translated to a percentage grade. Your final grade will depend on how many points you have achieved throughout the class. These points will be calculated into an overall percentage grade.
Instructions
Ask your teacher for the percentage points you have earned for a specific task if you receive a letter grade. Divide the percentage you received by how much the assignment is worth for the overall average. For example, if you received a 95 percent out of 100 percent and the assignment is worth 15 percent of your grade, multiply 95 by .15. This equals 14.25. Add together all of the averages you have received to calculate the overall grade out of 100. Add 14.25 to the other grades to get your average.
