How to Teach Morals to Children
You worry about your children's values and morals and want them to develop your belief system. You want them to be good people who are honest, fair and respectful. Follow these tips to teach morals to children and help them live a good life.

Make sure you have strong morals yourself. You can't expect kids to follow the rules if you don't follow them. Teach by doing. Be a good person and your child will want to copy you. Explain why good morals are important to you and your family. Children need to understand why you feel the way you do. Tell children why you believe what you do. Be with your kids as much as you can. Spend time with them so they can learn by watching you. Kids watch those around them and they copy what they see. State your beliefs and then live by them. Be clear. Don't confuse children by saying one thing and then doing the other. Be strict with your children. Be firm in your beliefs by not letting children get away with things that you deem morally wrong. Surround yourself and your children with moral friends and others who share your moral beliefs. Make sure that baby sitters and caregivers share your ideas. Give children examples of how people have troubled lives if they don't have good morals. Give examples of happy people with a strong moral belief system. Teach your religious or spiritual beliefs to your children. Often moral beliefs stem from religious beliefs. Teach children the foundation of your moral belief system.
