How to Spy Track a Car

Spy tracking a vehicle is useful for helping to ensure that new teen drivers are arriving to and from their destinations safely and to ensure that they do not run into troubles along their route. There are many different ways to track a vehicle. GPS location through GPS systems installed in cars is one effective way. Companies like OnStar and Lojack also provide services to located your vehicle at any given moment. However, one of the easiest, most efficient, cost effective ways is through a personal cell phone. Either placing the tracking on your teen's cell phone or placing an old cell phone in the car in an undisclosed location can both work equally well.

  • Cellphone with iDEN (Boost Mobile, Windows, Nextel)
  • Personal Computer

      Obtain tracking software from a tracking company like AccuTracking.com.

      On the AccuTracking website you will need to locate the "already have a cell phone" subhead near the center of the webpage.

      Click on the small blue "install" link.

      Locate your phone type or the provider that you have your phone service with and click the appropriate box.

      Locate the blue "link" that will take you to enter your iDEN number and click it. On the next page enter your iDEN number and then click "send to my phone" near the bottom.

      Once the software has been sent to your phone you will need to locate it. For example on a boost mobile phone you will need to first enter the "Menu." From there, you need to travel into "Games and Applications" and then into "Download Applications." In there, you will find the AccuTracking software.

      Download and install the software to your cell phone.

      Open the AccuTracker program (it should be located in your Games and Applications section). You will notice the program ask you for a tracker ID.

      Go to the following website on your personal computer http://www.accutracking.com/signup.php and proceed through the registration process.

      Log into your newly created account and locate the subheading titled "Manage Units."

      Now find and select the "generate tracker ID" button to receive a number. Enter this number on the "tracker ID" prompt on your cellphone.

      Your cell phone is now set up to be tracked. From the AccuTracking website you can see where your phone is at all times with real GPS tracking.
