Services for Children With Autistic Problems in New Hampshire
According to the New Hampshire Council on Autism Spectrum Disorders, about 2,000 school age children in the state have been diagnosed with autism. A wide variety of services is available to help to these children and their families. Centers located throughout the state as well as online services offer support, training and treatment programs.

The Autism Center of Central New Hampshire's mission is "to create a learning environment that supports parents to encourage, educate, and advocate for their child with Autism Spectrum Disorder." Services offered by the center, which is located in Laconia, are geared toward helping families with a child up to age 5 through training, classes, consultations and workshops, including Connecting the Puzzle and Piece by Piece. Connecting the Puzzle is an eight-week training program to help families establish routines and meet challenges posed by communication, social, adaptive, cognitive and sensory issues. Piece by Piece helps families learn how to incorporate meaningful activities to everyday activities.

Gateways Community Services Autism Center

The Gateways Autism Center in Nashua offers services to autistic children and adults and their families. "The Center Coordinator provides information and resources to schools, medical professionals, the work place, and others to foster empathy and understanding for individuals with ASD," the center's website explains. Programs specifically for those diagnosed with autism include Autism 9-1-1 Registration and Parent-2-Child Training. Autism 9-1-1 Registration enables emergency service workers to know when a 911 call originates from the residence of a person with autism. Parent-2-Child is a nine-week course on how to use applied behavior analysis.
