Instructions
Fruity Ice Cream Cone Snack Holders
Cut a piece of plastic wrap into a 6-inch square. Cut open a cantaloupe or honeydew melon and use a small melon baller to scoop out a little of the fruit. Arrange blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and the melon balls on the plastic wrap. Lift up the snack-filled plastic wrap from the corners and drop it gently into an ice cream cone. The plastic wrap will prevent the juice from the fruit from leaking into the cone. Wrap the cone with another piece of plastic wrap and secure it with a ribbon or rubber band at the top. Store the snack holders in the fridge until you̵7;re ready to serve. Dry Mix Ice Cream Cone Snack Holders
Mix together 1 cup of rolled oats and 3/4 cup of nuts and seeds, such as almond slices, sunflower seeds and chopped walnuts. Mix together 1/4 cup honey, 1/8 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter, 1/8 cup vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a saucepan. Warm over low heat until all ingredients are melted and blended evenly. Pour the mixture over the granola mix and blend thoroughly. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Spread the mixture onto the covered baking sheet and bake at 325 F for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Mix in 1/4 cup of chopped dried fruit, such as apricots, cranberries and raisins, while the granola mixture is still warm and allow it to cool thoroughly. Scoop up the granola mix and spoon it into the ice cream cone snack holders. Character Holiday Cups
Fill a pastry bag with a round icing tip with the color icing of your choice. Squeeze the bag to draw a mouth, a nose and hair on the character. Add a dab of icing for the eyes and press a candy-coated chocolate over top of the icing. Squeeze a generous dab of icing on either side of the cone, about 1 1/2 inches up from the bottom. Break a pretzel stick in half and press one half into either dab of icing to make the character's arms. Spoon holiday goodies, such as candies, chocolates or trail mix into the ice cream cone characters. Snack Holder Tray
Lay a 9- by 13-inch foil tray upside down on your work surface. Stand an ice cream cone on the tray. Trace around the bottom of the cone, drawing the circle a little larger than the bottom tip of the cone so it will slide easily into the hole. Repeat to make as many holes for holders as you'd like. Cut out the circles with scissors. Slide the ice cream cones into the holes in the foil tray holder.
