How to Wash a Britax Car Seat
A Britax car seat is for babies and toddlers to ride safely in a car or truck. It can become quite messy with everyday use. This includes spills with food or drinks and muddy weather conditions. In addition, your child may have an accident. It is important to clean the Britax car seat weekly so your child does not become ill from germs or bacteria. If a spill or accident occurs, clean the seat as soon as possible. Use a fabric cleaner that is non-abrasive such as 303 Sunbrela Fabric Cleaner or Resolve Fabric Cleaner.
Things You'll Need
- Two cloths
- Fabric cleaner
Instructions
Remove the Britax car seat from the vehicle. Unbuckle the seat. Bring the seat into the home, near the bathroom or kitchen sink. Place it on the counter. Dip both cloths under warm water. Wring out the excess moisture. Rub the first cloth over the Britax car seat fabric. Press roughly to remove any loose dirt or grime. Then, wipe the buckles and the remaining sturdy parts of the car seat. Rinse the cloth. Use the spray fabric cleaner. Squirt three or four times on the first cloth. Rub the cloth together to evenly spread the cleaning solution. Wash the Britax car seat. Wipe roughly and press down to remove in dirt set in on the fabric. Start from the top and rub down in rows to clean each part. Then wash the belt buckles and the base of the seat for an overall clean. Apply more solution to the rag if needed. Use the second cloth to rinse off the car seat. If the rag cooled down, run it under the warm water again. Rinse off the entire fabric section as well as the buckle and base. Use the same process as in Step 5. Dry completely before using the Britax car seat. Place it in a warm location away from children or pets. This is to ensure the car seat will not catch any dirt or debris until it is completely dry. Wait about two to three hours.
