How to Make Your Child Taller
Most parents don't want their children to be short. Height can be an influence in a variety of ways, including a child's participation and performance in sports and their overall self-esteem. There are things you can do to improve or maximize your children's growth ceiling. Nothing can beat maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, but there are other alternatives for children with stunted growth.
Instructions
Check with your pediatrician and make sure you child's diet is healthy and balanced. Deficiencies of vitamins, minerals or other nutrients could inhibit your children from reaching their maximum height. Stretch regularly. Stretching releases a hormone that aids in growth. The hormone deposits itself in your children's muscles and continues to work after the stretching is over. By stretching, you are essentially teaching your body's muscles to grow. Exercise regularly. Your child's body will need activity and exercise to grow. Exercising will also improve your child's posture, which can inhibit height if they slouch. Consider growth hormones only as a last resort. Doctors can check children to see if they are deficient in growth hormones and prescribe hormone injections. If your child's growth hormones are properly functioning but you still want to add up to 2 inches to their eventual height, you can find a doctor willing to prescribe the daily injections, but they are not inexpensive -- the daily injections cost around $20,000 a year.
