How to Make Badges for Kids
The next time you̵7;re in charge of a kids̵7; party, classroom event, Scout trip or other outing, keep track of your charges with colorful name badges. The badges also help kids meet and greet each other. The identification tags won̵7;t cost much-many badge supplies can be found in your home. The badges make for a unique keepsake after the day̵7;s events.
Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- Round pin-back buttons
- Neon orange paint
- Paintbrush
- Box of colorful loops cereal
- White school glue
- Polyurethane
- Thick permanent marker
Instructions
Lay pin-back buttons face up on paper towels. Cover them with orange paint. Let dry. Glue cereal loops around the outside edges of the buttons, creating patterns or adding layers. Leave room in the middle of the button so the orange paint shows through. Let dry. Write each child̵7;s name in the middle of a button with a permanent marker. Use calligraphy, balloon letters or a kid̵7;s handwriting style of lettering. Take the buttons outside and lay them on newspaper on the grass. Spray them with polyurethane to protect the cereal from crumbling. Let dry.
