Once you enter Kidz Zone, you will have no doubt that kids are a priority at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair. In the Kidz Zone, children enjoy rides, interactive exhibits and performances. Past interactive exhibits have included the Honey Bee Center, where kids learn how bees make honey; the Monster Mural, which is a large-scale, collective work of art; and Yukon Dan, where kids receive a hands-on lesson in gold panning. Performances include magic shows, dance shows and kite flying. This fair typically runs in late May.

Bear Creek Park

Kids will be thrilled to ride on the mini historic train at Bear Creek Park. The train is not only meant to be fun, but also a lesson in the importance of locomotives. The train travels through wooded areas, a flower garden, a magical tunnel, and past several displays that change over the course of the year depending on the season or holiday. Special events are also held during holidays like Easter, when there is a bunny ear craft workshop. Bear Creek Park is open year round.

Sonrise Summer Camps

Every summer the Sonrise Church holds a series of camps for kids. Activities at past camps have included Mad Science, where kids participate in an outdoor chemistry lab, plus get to learn all about cameras; Athletes in Action Soccer, which is led by university and soccer club players; and Vacation Bible School, where kids take a trip back in time to Egypt to learn about Joseph’s journey. Camps typically run in July and August.
