4-H Associations

4-H is a youth-based development organization that helps young people to become future leaders and to reach their potential. They use hands-on learning, research-based initiatives, resources and adult mentoring programs to accomplish this task. 4-H is also affiliated with various state and university organizations and these associations are located all throughout the country. States such as Florida and Pennsylvania are associated with 4-H and so are universities and colleges such as the University of Southern California.

  1. New Jersey Agricultural Experimental Station

    • Rutgers University sponsors the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station which is a 4-H program that is designed to help students to become caring and knowledgeable citizens of the world. Education, community responsibility, training and community partnerships are used to carry out this objective. Services provided to youth through this program include mentoring, camping, livestock symposiums and public presentations.

    University of California 4-H

    • University of California is associated with the 4-H program and they provide youth development programs to the young people who reside in the area. This particular program focuses on teaching children and teenagers the skills they will need to participate within their communities and how to help others that are in need. Children involved within this unique 4-H program will learn how to raise companion dogs, plant vegetables and even build rockets.

    PAE4-HA

    • Pennsylvania Association of Extension 4-H Agents helps to develop youth by enhancing and strengthening their lives as well as advocating for resources on their behalf. Research, technology and collaborations are also used by these professionals to improve the condition of the youths that are involved in the 4-H programs.

    Florida 4-H

    • University of Florida 4-H program offers young people some unique opportunities to participate in filmmaking contests and to create videos of farm life. This particular 4-H association has agricultural programs that utilize technology in order to create new and interesting projects. Florida 4-H also provides camps and clubs and other services that are designed to motivate youth to become good citizens of their society.
