How to Locate Soccer Teams for Kids
Most cities will have soccer teams for kids as young as preschool age all the way up to high school. You may even have the option of choosing between a recreational program that is less structured or competitive training programs that will focus more on teaching proper techniques and strictly follow the rules of the game. In areas where you find several teams or leagues to choose from, you and your child may want to watch some games first to decide which one is the best fit for your child the following season.

Instructions
Look for programs in or near your child̵7;s school. Some middle and high schools will have school-sponsored soccer teams. Ask your child̵7;s teacher or the office staff if the school has a soccer team. Even is the school does not have a team, the staff may know of local leagues to join. Also look for signs and banners at the school. These are usually put up when it̵7;s time to register for the program. Ask your parent friends who live in the area if they know of any local soccer teams for your child̵7;s age. You can even ask this question on Facebook to make it easy for other parents to post links to the information you need. Read your city's or county̵7;s parks and recreation activity guide. Any local parks and recreational soccer programs will be listed in the guide. You can get a guide by calling or visiting your local parks and recreation department. Search the American Youth Soccer Organization website, AYSO.org, for a local AYSO-sponsored team. At this website you type in your zip code and can search for teams within a 10- to 50-mile radius of your home. The AYSO has programs for kids age 4 and up, and for kids with disabilities and special needs. Search the U.S. Youth Soccer website, USYouthSoccer.org, for a list of clubs near you. In the club directory you can search for soccer clubs up to 100 miles from you and even see the results on a map. US Youth Soccer clubs are for kids who want to just play for fun and for those who want to train for more competitive playing. Previous:Good Show Tunes for Kids
