How to Use a Snugli Baby Carrier
Snugli baby carriers can be a convenient way to bring your little one with you when enjoying outdoor activities or events where space is limited. They are fairly easy to use once you get the hang of them and they will grow with your child, usually up to 20 pounds, although some back carriers allow you to carry baby longer. The instructions provided here are for Snugli baby carriers that carry baby in front of the parent, though the steps are essentially the same for back carriers.
Instructions
Hold the Snugli with the bottoms of the straps free. Find the place where the straps criss-cross. Put your head through the open space between where the straps criss-cross and the carrier. Maintain the criss-cross, then pull a strap beneath each of your arms around to the front of your body where the carrier is. Connect the bottoms of the straps to the carrier, clipping them securely in place. Pull on the strap adjusters to get a snug, comfortable fit. Don't leave too much leeway around your neck or it will pull and you will be carrying baby by your neck and not your shoulders, which could cause pain or injury. Undo one side to help you get baby in. Place the baby in the carrier, inserting the legs into the appropriate holes. Keeping one hand on the baby, fasten the other side of the carrier. If the baby cannot yet hold up his head by himself, the baby should face you. If the baby can hold his own head up, the baby should face away from you. Pull up the headrest flap on the carrier if the baby is facing you. Clip it securely in place to support the baby's head. If baby is facing away from you, fold the flap down and clip it in place. Ensure the baby is secure in the Snugli and that nothing is obstructing baby's airway. Make any necessary adjustments to the straps to ensure a comfortable fit and you're ready to go.
