Baby Bag Checklist

As a parent, you will spend time traveling with your baby. Packing a baby bag with essentials helps when visiting a museum, traveling on plane and other instances. Create a list of baby supplies to store in a medium-sized baby bag. It is a good idea to carry more supplies than you expect you will need.

  1. Diapering Essentials

    • Keeping your baby clean and healthy requires carrying diapering essentials. "Parents" states you need to keep enough diapers to cover every hour. Store a box of baby wipes and a pediatrician-recommended ointment in the baby bag. Besides wiping the baby, use them to clean your hands. Take non-diapering essentials when traveling with your baby. Use zipper-lock bags for soiled diapers.

    Formula and Food

    • Your baby requires enough pre-filled baby bottles. For a long day trip, carry an unopened can of formula. An older baby will require a secure cup, reducing spilled drinks. Examples of snacks for an older child includes non-sugary cookies and crackers. Keep the food wrapped in a clear bag. Remove from the baby bag once you arrive home.

    Clothing

    • Carry at least one change of clothing. Your baby can soil the clothing during a diaper change. Clothing items include an undershirt, shirt, pants and a pair of baby socks. An older baby may require a pair of shoes. Depending on the weather conditions, your clothing options can range from a hat to a coat.

    Medications

    • A baby can come down with an illness. When your baby has a fever or cold, you want to have access to baby medications. Baby medications to carry include children's Tylenol or a cold medicine. Check with your pediatrician about which medication to give and the correct dosage. Make sure you keep each medication in its original bottle along with the instructions.

    Other Bag Supplies

    • Once you finish packing your baby's diapers, formula and clothes, remember to take other baby supplies. One baby supply is a bib. Cover your baby's shirt, reducing clothing stains. Another bag supply is your baby's favorite toy, such as a rattle. "Yeah Baby" states additional supplies can range from children's books to hand sanitizer for yourself.

    • Parents of twins or two young children very close in age usually find a double stroller invaluable. However, double strollers can be expensive and bulky. An alternative temporary option for caregivers is to use a stroller connector to attach two inex
