How to Recline the Seats in a Maclaren Techno XT Double Stroller

Maclaren is a British manufacturer of single and double strollers made of lightweight, durable materials. One of the styles available from Maclaren is the Techno line, including the single and double XT and XRT. All of these models feature an adjustable seat, which can move from upright to horizontal, with several alternate positions in between. This allows your children to sit comfortably at any age, as long as you know how to work the reclining function. Luckily, the process is so quick, you can do it in less than a minute.

      Release the storage clips on the sides of the Techno XT and open the stroller, so it is standing upright. Press down on the footplates on the back, lower portion of the frame -- to click the stroller securely in place. There is a footplate behind each of the stroller seats.

      Sit your children in the stroller and snap the five-point harness together around them. If your kids are properly seated in the stroller, it is not safe to try to adjust the seats, because they could fall out.

      Look on the back of the left seat and locate the handle in the middle of the seat back. Locate the same handle on the right seat back.

      Grip the handles, one in each hand and slide them upward. This will release the seat locks and allow you to slowly lower the seats.

      Stop moving the seats when they are in the position you want, and gently release the handles. Make sure the handles slide back down and lock the seats into place.

      Adjust one seat at a time by lifting only one of the seat back handles. Push the seats towards the front of the stroller to return them to the upright position.
