Instructions
Organize your traveling equipment well in advance. It's stressful to plan for a trip with one infant -- traveling with two of the same age is another matter entirely. Consider how accessible changing facilities will be and how many naps and feeds your twins will need. Work out how many diapers, snacks, bottles and changes of clothing you'll require for your trip. Don't forget any medication your twins are taking. Keep your twins' supplies separate from your travel documents and personal essentials such as passports, tickets, cash and your cell phone. Use resealable bags to keep items separate. You might keep garments in one bag, snacks in another and diapers and baby wipes in another. This makes it easier to get your hands on exactly what you need -- right when you need it. Keep your travel equipment to a minimum. If you're traveling alone, you may want to use a double umbrella stroller or have one child in an umbrella stroller with your travel bag hooked over its handles or stowed underneath, and the other child in a carrier on your back. Traveling with another adult will make it much easier. You may both carry a child in a baby carrier, take an item of luggage in one hand and have the other hand free to support or comfort your child. Book your seats in advance whenever possible if you are traveling on public transportation. Whether you are traveling by coach, train or plane, securing guaranteed seats will take away the stress of finding suitable seats together. If you are going by air, check the airline's guidelines and safety restrictions on traveling with infants. If your twins are under 2 years old and you are traveling with your partner or another adult, you may each travel with an "infant in arms." This means you'll hold an infant on your lap for the duration of the flight. Some airlines recommend purchasing a separate seat for your infant and using an approved child safety seat. This option gives you extra space and more freedom to move around during the flight. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination, now matter how you travel. Arrive at the airport or station well before your departure time. Be prepared to make several trips to the restroom to change diapers or wash grubby hands. Have plenty of age-appropriate toys and books with you to entertain your twins if you experience delays. Previous:No
