How to Make a Baby Elephant Towel
Impress children and adults alike by turning regular towels into a cute baby elephant. Towels cleverly folded into animal shapes are popular on cruises as a memorable novelty item for kids to enjoy. Many hotels also express their warm welcome to their guests by surprising them with animal-shaped towels neatly arranged on the bed. Next time you stay in a hotel, return the favor by making a towel elephant for the maid cleaning your room.
Instructions
Lay a bath towel on a flat surface and smooth any wrinkles. Roll one long edge of the towel until you reach the center. Roll the other edge to meet in the center. Fold the short edges of the towel together with the rolls on the outside to make the elephant's legs and body. Stand the elephant's body upright, spreading the rolled legs slightly apart for balance. Lay the hand towel on a flat surface. Grasp the middle of one long edge of hand towel in your teeth and use both hands to roll the short edges starting at the bottom corners towards the middle of the towel. You will have a rolled "Y" shape to form the trunk and ears of the elephant. Roll the tip of the trunk up a few inches with the folded side on the bottom and release to make a curled trunk. Roll the flap of hand towel between the ears down to let the ears hang freely. Balance the rolled hand towel on top of the elephant's body with the folded side on the bottom, the trunk facing forward with the curl up and the ears hanging back on the sides of the body. Add accessories, like googly eyes or even sunglasses to your baby elephant towel as desired. Previous:How to Make a Minky Dot Blanket
