Things To Do
Read board books or picture books to your 12-month-old to help aid her rapidly growing vocabulary. Cover your face with a small blanket. Pull the blanket off and exclaim excitedly but not to loudly, "Peek-a-boo!" Cover the child's face or favorite toy the second round. Your baby will likely play along after the first round or two. Stack wooden alphabet blocks or small gift boxes as high as you can. Your little one will likely enjoy knocking the blocks down as much as she enjoys stacking them up. Sit on the floor with a large, soft ball and roll it to your child. Most 1-year-olds will be able to roll or lightly toss the ball back, creating a game. Fill a small kiddie pool or bathtub with a few inches of water. Add a plastic cup for scooping and other water toys. Encourage your child to explore the water by splashing with hands or scooping water with a cup. Do not leave her side. Previous:How to Get a Baby on a TV Commercial
