How to Make Flushable Wipes
As the parent of an infant or toddler, particularly one who is potty training, you will quickly come to appreciate having a ready supply of flushable wipes with you wherever you go. Flushable wipes are convenient, but they can also be costly, especially if you have more than one child potty training at once. Save some money, add a pleasing scent to potty training and control exactly what comes into contact with your little one's bum by making your own flushable wipes.
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups warm filtered water
- Sealable plastic pitcher
- 1/2 cup baby oil
- 1/2 cup baby wash
- 1-2 teaspoons essential oils (optional)
- Paper towel roll with varying length tear sheets
- Scissors
- Plastic disposable wipes container
Instructions
Pour warm, filtered water into a large sealable plastic pitcher or other container. Add baby oil and baby wash. Add essential oils, such as lavender oil and tea tree oil, if desired. Place a lid over container and gently shake the mixture until it is bubbly and combined. Cut a roll of single-ply paper towels with a pair of scissors. Select a roll with varying lengths so that you can use the least amount of paper possible for each wipe. Press the roll between your hands to flatten it. Place the cut roll half into a disposable wipes container and slowly pour the mixture over them. Close the lid to the wipes container and allow it to sit for a few hours. Gently drain excess liquid from the container.
