How to tell if your child is using drugs. There are signs that a parent can look for. My experience working with At Risk Youth has made me very aware of changes youth make when becoming involved with drugs. 1 out of 5 high school seniors has tried a prescription drugs to get high. 1 out of 10 8th graders has used prescription drugs illegally. Sniffing inhalant to get high among 8th graders has increased.

After working in a Youth Detention facility, I became very educated. I saw a 14 year old girl teeth rotting from use of meth. A boy 14 years old repeating himself over and over because of huffing. His mind had deteriorated. There is no way to repair the damage that inhaling can cause.
There are so many different methods a youth can use to get high and so easy for a youth to become addicted. With all the different sources they have to choose from, Alcohol, Amphetamines (stimulants).
Cocaine, Crack, DXM (cough suppressant), Ecstasy, GHB (depressant), Heroin, Inhalants (house hold products, spray paint, vapors, gasoline) better known as huffing, Marijuana, Methamphetamine (Meth), Ritalin, PCP just to name a few. We have to educate ourselves, so we can educate our children.
