Cicero, Illinois Teen Programs
Cierco, Illinois is surrounded by some of Chicago's most violent neighborhoods and is home to a high percentage of disadvantaged youth, according to the Cierco Youth Task Force. Community organizations and volunteers work together to provide a wide variety of teen programs to help at-risk teens take the necessary steps toward a brighter future.

YMCA

Pav YMCA -- serving Cierco and Berwyn, Illinois -- hosts programs for teens. The Teen Leadership Club is sponsored by the Pav YMCA and is geared toward kids ages 12 to 16. The program provides teenagers with an opportunity to spend time with their peers in a fun, education-based atmosphere. Teens can participate in special projects and events put on by the club. They are also required to donate 15 hours of their time in a three-month period to provide service to the Pav YMCA and community.
Community Services

Corazon Community Services is an organization that provides a wide range of programs to troubled and at-risk teenagers, including life-skills programs to help improve a teen̵7;s future and education programs to provide teens with real world skills. The Fuerza Youth Program is offered to teens and young adults ages 14 to 21. The program provides homework assistance, internships, field trips, recreation and events. Each program participant receives a hot meal daily.
School Programs

Encourage your Cicero teen to get involved in programs or after-school activities at Morton High School. A wide variety of programs, clubs and activities are offered to help teens connect with like-minded peers. Different clubs meet on campus, such as the Circle of Friends, which consists of a teenagers who befriend students with disabilities. Students can also join academic clubs, like the math team or chess club, or try out for one of the many sports teams offered through the school. Other activities such as cheerleading, choir and band are offered.

WeHaKee Camp hosts the WeHaKee Leadership Program during the summer for teenage girls who have completed grade 9, 10 or 11. Leadership programs include counselor-in-training, program assistant and junior counselor training. Youth Outreach Services provides services such as counseling and prevention programs to Cierco and Berwyn teens. The organization has programs for teens facing the juvenile justice system, such as detention alternatives and family-focused programs to get teens back on track.
