Free Things for Expecting Mothers

As your baby bump grows, you're busy preparing for the arrival of your baby. Finances are likely on your mind, as well, considering the cost of raising a child will set you back more than $245,000, according to CNN Money. Save yourself a bit of cash by taking advantage of some of the freebies offered to expectant parents.

  1. Free Formula Samples

    • Whether you plan to breastfeed or formula feed, you can sign up for free formula samples and other goodies from some of the formula companies. Enfamil, for example, offers the Enfamil Family Beginnings program, which provides expecting moms with freebies, such as formula samples, coupons and gifts. Likewise, Similac offers the Similac StrongMoms program, which includes a first trimester gift, free formula and a free diaper bag. The Gerber baby nutrition kit includes product coupons, special gifts and samples, as well.

    Breastfeeding Freebies

    • Moms who plan to breastfeed can get freebies, too. You can join the Similac StrongMoms Club to receive a third trimester gift that includes breastfeeding resources and breast milk storage bottles. Lansinoh has special offers, including free printable coupons for items such as nursing pads, breast milk storage bags and bottle nipples. The Affordable Care Act requires that health insurance companies offer free breastfeeding support and breast pumps for breastfeeding moms, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website. Contact your insurance company for more information.

    Diaper Freebies

    • Many diaper companies offer free items for expecting moms. Sign up for the free Huggies program on the manufacturer's website to get money-saving coupons for diapers and wipes, as well as other special offers. Pampers offers printable diaper coupons and the Pampers Rewards program, which earns you rewards for buying diapers. Luvs gives away a year's supply of diapers each month to one lucky parent. You can enter to win on their website. Luvs also has a rewards program, which provides you with coupons and promotions by email.
