Baby Shower Gifts and Games

Games are a common activity played at most baby showers. When guests play baby shower games, the winners go home with prizes. The prizes are generally small little gifts and trinkets given to guests as a small way of thanking them for coming and for participating in the games.

  1. Bingo

    • Baby gift bingo is a common game played at many baby showers. It is easy to play and offers many winners. Each guest is given a blank bingo form. In each box, the guests write down the gifts they think the expectant mother will receive when she opens her gifts. Guests write down items such as diapers, bottles and baby lotion. Each box should contain a different item. As the expectant mother opens each gift, the guests mark out the gifts listed on their individual bingo forms. When a guest gets a bingo, she yells it out and is given a prize.

    ABC Game

    • The ABC baby shower game is fun and easy to play. Prior to the game starting, each letter of the alphabet is placed on an index card. Guests are divided into teams and given a blank sheet of paper. The hostess chooses an index card and reads the letter out loud. The teams must come up with as many words that relate to babies that begin with the stated letter. The team with the most appropriate words wins a prize.

    Gifts

    • When guests win a game, they generally choose a gift. Plants are gifts that are given that serve two purposes. The hostess of the baby shower decorates the tables with beautiful plants. The plants then are given to guests as they win games. Other items commonly given as gifts are candles, small picture frames, lotions, journals and bath soaps.

    Party Favors

    • Guests receive a baby shower favor when attending these types of parties. A baby shower favor is a small item given to the guests as a way of thanking them for coming. Baby shower party favors can be many different things including decorated cookies in the shape of a baby item or small bags of candies containing a baby theme.
