How to Make Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans With Cointreau
Chocolate covered coffee beans are a delectable treat, a mixture of the bitter crunch of roasted coffee bean and the sweet, rich chocolate coating. Things You'll Need
- Roasted coffee beans
- Bittersweet chocolate
- Whipping cream
- Unsalted butter
- Cointreau
- 2 saucepans
- Glass bowl that will fit over one of the saucepans
- Wax paper
Instructions
Measure out 1 cup of roasted coffee beans, 1/4 cup of whipping cream and 3/4 cup of chopped bittersweet chocolate. Put about 3 inches of water in one saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn down to a simmer, put the glass bowl on top of it, and add the bittersweet chocolate and a tablespoon of unsalted butter. Mix until melted. Add 1 tbsp. of Cointreau to the mixture and combine thoroughly. Warm the whipping cream in another saucepan, but do not let it come to a boil. When the cream is warm, pour it into the chocolate mixture and combine thoroughly. Toss 1 cup of roasted coffee beans into the chocolate and stir until they're completely coated. Use a slotted spoon to remove the coffee beans from the glass bowl, and place on a sheet of wax paper to cool and harden. Remove from the wax paper and serve when ready.
