Next Choice, also known as the morning-after pill, is an emergency contraceptive used to help prevent pregnancy up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. Next Choice can also be used if another form of birth control has failed.

      Purchase the pill at a pharmacy as soon as you have had unprotected sex or if your normal contraception has failed. You must be 17 to purchase this without a prescription.

      Take the first tablet within 72 hours of unprotected sex. The package contains two pills.

      Take the second tablet 12 hours after taking the first pill.
