Special Issues With Multiple Births
If you're expecting more than one baby, you already know you'll be facing extra challenges as parents.
You may also face complications with your pregnancy, labour and birth.
Multiple babies (twins, triplets or more) place extra demands on your body. When the time comes, they can be delivered vaginally or by caesarean section. The type of delivery you have will depend on the babies' position in your uterus, their gestational age and their health.
Parents of multiples need extra support and assistance. Don't be afraid to ask for help before the birth. That way, you can have support in place by the time you get home with your babies.
Breastfeeding
Multiples can be breastfed successfully. Feeding early and often will help you to have enough milk. Try different positions for holding your babies while breastfeeding.
