How to Get Kool-Aid off of a Face

Although Kool-Aid is a common beverage choice for children, it often leaves a stain when in contact with skin, especially over the top lip. In powder form, ready-to-drink pouches or in fizzing tablets, Kool-Aid contains an artificial sweetener and a strong dye to achieve the vibrant colors. Some teenagers use Kool-Aid to temporarily dye their hair, resulting in the dye dripping onto their faces. Use some items from around the house to cure your child's Kool-Aid mustache.

Things You'll Need

  • Washcloth
  • Tartar control, whitening toothpaste
  • Vinegar
  • Soap
  • Baby oil

    • 1

Wet a washcloth with warm water and spread a dab of tartar control, whitening toothpaste on the cloth.

    • 2

    Vinegar

    • 4

Dampen a small area of a paper towel with vinegar and massage it on the stained area of your face, as long as the stained area is not near your mouth, nose or eyes.

    • 5

Wash the area where vinegar was applied using soap and warm water.

    • 6

Rinse your face and pat it dry. Check the affected area and repeat the process, if necessary.

    • 7

Pour a small bit of baby oil on the corner of a paper towel.

    • 8

Massage and rub the baby oil onto the stained area of the face making certain not to get it into the eyes, nostrils or mouth.

    • 9

Remove the baby oil using a baby wipe. Check the area for remaining stains, and repeat as necessary.
