This is a good time to do something good for someone while making a bit of cash. Your mom may increase your allowance for helping out with groceries during the busy holiday season too.

Craft shows or holiday bazaars are booming in the winter because people are always looking for handmade gifts they can buy for others for Christmas. If you have a talent like making jewelry, baking, knitting or scrapbooking, then sell it. You and your mom could do it together, or she could help you with the set up. Some craft shows charge a fee, but many churches or community center bazaars are low cost or free to participate. You could actually earn a substantial amount of money depending on how motivated you are and how many shows you participate in.
