How to Use Flour Tortillas in a Kid's Lunch

Wraps
Make a wrap for your child's lunch. Warm a flour tortilla and place it on a clean, flat work surface. Select your child's favorite spread. Spreads might include mayo, mustard or ranch dressing to name a few. Evenly cover the surface of the tortilla with the spread. Add your child's favorite lunch meat or grilled chicken pieces, and/or cheese to the center of the tortilla. You can also skip the spread and make tuna, egg or chicken salad to spread on the tortilla. Include some thin tomato slices, lettuce and pickles if your child prefers. Other options include spreading a tortilla with just peanut butter and jelly, or peanut butter, chocolate syrup and sliced bananas. Roll the tortilla to make a wrap. To roll neatly, begin by folding both sides toward the center. Next, fold the edge nearest you towards the center. Roll the wrap away from you, while keeping the fillings tight. Cut it diagonally in half. Place the finished wrap in a baggie or wrap it with plastic wrap. Dessert
Place one or more flour tortillas on a cookie sheet greased with olive oil pan spray. Brush light olive oil evenly over the tops of all tortillas. Sprinkle the surface of the tortillas with cinnamon and sugar, or sprinkle them with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. Remove the tortillas from the oven. Cut the cinnamon and sugar tortillas into strips, or roll the tortillas filed with the chocolate chips and marshmallows into a wrap. Cool and place in a baggie to include in your kid's lunch bag for box. Chips
Cut the flour tortillas into four wedges. Brush olive oil over both sides of each section. Place the wedges on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle with salt to taste. Alternatives to salt include such spices as garlic, Parmesan cheese and dry ranch dressing. Bake the chips at 250 degrees F for three minutes. Flip the chips with a spatula and continue to bake. Continue to flip every few minutes until the chips are golden brown. This will take between 9 to 12 minutes. Remove the chips from the oven and cool. Place in a baggie for easy carrying in your child's lunch bag or box.
