Instructions
Working with the Look
Hire a professional photographer to get a good head shot. You do not need an entire portfolio until after your child lands an agent. Enroll in a commercial class (if your child is over the age of 4). This will teach your child the basics of commercial shooting and save the director a lot of time and grief. Find an agent. Reputable agents will not try to sell you packages or anything else. To find an agent, ask other parents in your community , look in the yellow pages and also check out the link in the resource section. It lists talent/modeling agencies by state. Now you need to hire a professional photographer to create a portfolio. Once your child has been accepted by an agent or manager, you will need to pay for that portfolio. Commit yourself to a lot of time. Auditions are usually on weekdays, which means your child might miss a lot of school. In addition, you will probably find yourself driving several hours to jobs, if you do not live in a major metropolitan area.
