How to Learn to Write the Alphabet
People learn how to write the alphabet at various times in their lives. The first time learning the alphabet takes place is usually when children go to school or in the years before that. Later on, the need for learning an alphabet might appear if you decide to learn a language that has a special alphabet, such as Russian, Greek or Japanese. There are some basic tips that will help with mastering the alphabet, no matter which one it is.
Instructions
Keep the alphabet in sight. Buy or make a big poster with the entire alphabet on it. Although this doesn't directly help with writing, seeing the alphabet will help with memorizing the sequence of words. If you are learning a new alphabet, such as Greek, write down the letters you're familiar with next to the matching letters of the new alphabet. This may not work with symbol-based languages with many characters, such as Japanese or Chinese, but is helpful for other languages. Practice a lot. Get a plain notebook and write the first letter of the alphabet on the top line on the first page. Practice writing that letter until you fill up the entire page. Continue until you feel you know how to write the letter. This is also a very useful tool when you are teaching a child how to write the alphabet. Practice with alphabet tracing sheets. This is a commonly used approach with teaching children how to write the alphabet, but you can use it for yourself as well. These sheets are available online for free.
