Instructions
Choose a superhero to dress you kid up as. Select a character that the kid likes, or you can easily replicate using household items. Rummage through your wardrobe, and your child's dresser for clothing that is the same color as that of the superhero. Batman is a great choice because the basis of his outfit is black. If you can't find the right colored clothes at home, dye old clothes the correct color or head to a thrift store. Make a cape -- no superhero is complete without a magical flying cape! Simply cut around the edge of a black garbage bag to make the basic cape shape. Spray paint it red for Spiderman or Wonderwoman, or leave it black for Batman. Create a facemask. Cut a rectangle out of the cardboard that is the same width as your child's head from ear to ear. Remove two circles of card for eye holes, then paint it your superhero's color. Paint it black for Batman. Accessorize your kid to enhance the superhero look. Stuff socks into the arms of the t-shirt for muscles or make a superhero logo by painting on the front of the shirt. For example, use yellow paint to draw Batman's symbol on the front of a black T-shirt. Dress the kid like a superhero. First, get the child to put on the black leggings and t-shirt. Tuck the T-shirt into the leggings and then wrap a bright yellow belt around the child's waist. Put the facemask on the child. Do this by tying it around his or head with string. Then, add the cape using string. Make sure you don't secure it too tightly or you might choke the child.
