How to Calculate Final Height
Final height refers to the adult height a child may grow into. Parents calculate this number to have a rough estimate as to how tall their child will be. This formula is not 100 percent accurate, as genetics and health play important roles in a child's development, but it can be used to give you a general idea of how tall your child may be.
Instructions
Add the mother's height and the father's height together. For example, take a mother is 5 feet 7 inches (or 67 inches) and a father is 5 feet 11 inches (or 71 inches). Together that's 11 feet 6 inches (or 138 inches). Add 5 inches for boys or subtract 5 inches for girls. To continue the example, the couple has a boy, so 138 inches plus 5 inches is 143 inches. Divide by two. To conclude the example, 143 divided by two is 71.5, or 6 feet 11 1/2 inches.
