WIC Locations Near Burton, Michigan

The United States federal grant program called Women, Infants and Children, known as WIC offers healthy foods, nutritional education and referrals as necessary for specific services at no cost to pregnant mothers, infants and children up to 5 years of age for those that are nutritionally at risk. Mott's services are by appointment only and can be scheduled on Tuesdays from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.; the center is closed the first Tuesday of each month until 1 p.m. Benefit issuance is not offered at the Mott location.     • Income is one criterion for acceptance into WIC. Women who are at or below 185 percent of the current U.S. poverty income guidelines qualify for the program. They must also prove state residency where they apply. Another factor to meet WIC specifications, with or without meeting the income criterion, is that the mother or child must be at "nutritional risk" as determined by a health professional. The risk may be medical or dietary in nature and may include conditions like anemia, underweight, poor diet or past pregnancy problems.
